Sam Walker as Bass Guitarist
Samantha Walker started peforming music with her sister as a young teenager, building up her strong musicianship and representation of women in rock with performing worldwide. Sam has been a professional working musician for over 10 years. Personal influences include; Queen, Led Zeppelin, Foo Fighters and Muse. Sam studied music technology at college and enjoyed songwriting and recording her own songs, which are now published and have been synced on adverts and computer games. Sam teaches at the music academy 'Rootz' in Hertfordshire and other schools in the area. Before starting the band JOANovARC Sam performed as a session bass guitarist for up and coming acts signed to major labels such as Raissa (Polydor Records). Sam has also made a TV appearance on TFI Friday with Chris Evans (Channel 4) and has also worked on with Suede on their UK sell out tour in 1999. Sam has also performed live playing bass and singing with Duncan James (Member of pop group Blue) at Party in the Park, Miss Italia in Milan, The festival bar in Rome, TOTZ Belgium and Pepzi Sizget festival in Budapest. In 2000 Sam joined the sucessful female rock group The Suffrajets who signed a record deal with Sony. The group toured throughout the UK and Europe, were filmed in Pinewood Studios and as part of a Channel 4 documentary (We are the Suffrajets) and featured on many radio shows. In 2004 Sam focussed her energies and crafted her own project with sister Shelley Walker and created the female rock band JOANovARC.
